How to start a Lo-Fi music YouTube channel

Lo-Fi beats have become highly popular because they help people relax while studying or working. Therefore, they get millions of views. That’s why some of these channels are making from $90k to $1M annually on the high end. If you want to be one of them, read on. I’ll show you how to build an autonomous YouTube channel with A.I.-generated lo-fi tracks.

How to Monetize Your Lo-Fi Channel

Many people have mentioned that they can’t monetize a Lo-Fi channel. However, you can indeed monetize your channel if you have permission to share that music for commercial purposes. In order to monetize your content on YouTube, you need to have more than 4,000 valid watch hours, more than 1,000 subscribers, and an Adsense account.

What you can do to get those views and subscribers is start posting content. You can achieve this with only one of these videos. Most people listen to Lo-Fi music while they’re working on studying, so it’s pretty easy to get 4,000 watch hours.

However, YouTube monetization isn’t the only way to generate income from your Lo-Fi channel. Here are a few additional ways to make money with your Lo-Fi channel:

1- Selling merch.

2- Receiving donations.

3- Patreon.

4- Community posts.

5- Sponsorships.

6- Brand deals.

7- Affiliate marketing.

Where To Find The Music:

There are multiple options to find Lo-Fi music, some of them are paid and others are free. Here’s what you can do:

1- Credit the owner of the music to use it commercially. This is going to help you at the beginning because you can start getting views. You can monetize your channel with additional streams such as affiliate marketing links, selling merch, or sponsorships.

2 - Use Mubert. This website can help you generate Lo-Fi music from scratch. Sign up for Mubert, and select the Lo-Fi genre and the duration of the track. Then, click on generate track. Finally, just download your track. After that, it’ll ask you to subscribe to a plan. There is a free option for this tool, but you can only generate 30 mins of music daily and 25 tracks per month.

Most importantly, with that option, you also have to give Muber credit for your music and you can’t use them for commercial purposes. This means you won’t be able to monetize it with the free option.

3 - AiVa. This one might be the most expensive, but it’s definitely worth it because its premium plan is copyright-free and you can use it commercially. It costs $49 a month and $33 a month paid annually.

Where to Find the Footage:

You can generate images for your videos using Midjourney. Use the command “/imagine” before you write the instructions for the A.I. For example: “/imagine a cat studying.” Before you use the image make sure it is horizontal, so you can use it on YouTube. Here is the one I used:

/imagine a guy studying in his room, night, stars in the sky, planets, galaxy, magic skies, flying dragons, ultra-detailed, hyperrealistic, high definition, photo-realistic, HD, 8k —ar 16:9.

Here is what the A.I. generated.

If you don’t want to use the A.I. option you can go to Pexels and just download one. There are no copyrighted images on this platform.

How to Create Your Lo-Fi Content:

Step 1 - Generate your image using Midjourney or Pexels.

Step 2 - Find some kind of music for your videos.

Step 4 - Get your affiliate offers. Some options you can consider are Clickbank, Digistore24, or joining my Pro University affiliate marketing program. This is an important step because, in the beginning, you might only generate income through alternative streams like affiliate marketing.

Step 5 - Edit your video to incorporate music and sound. You can use several editing tools, such as Final Cut Pro, iMovie, Adobe Premiere Pro, or Davinci Resolve.

Step 6 - Create your youtube channel. It is important to create a new one because this is a niche-specific channel.

Step 7 - Post the videos

Step 8 - Repeat periodically.
